Every Breath You Take

Breath is a vital part of your yoga practice. When taking a yoga class with Krista at Aligned with Green, you are reminded to breathe consciously. This helps us to connect with the energy within. Breathing deeply - breathing good, clean air helps us to feel centered, refreshed. Chances are you probably haven’t given much thought about the air you have been breathing. At least not until you notice certain smells or if it is humid how heavy the air seems to be. Of course if you are sitting by the ocean or walking through a forest, you might notice how refreshing the air is or how clean it is, how good you feel. Noticing the difference is noticing the difference between positive ions and negative ions. This can affect your health and wellness. Although you might think that positive ions are good and negative ions are bad because of the names, that is not the case. For the sake of simplicity remember that positive ions equals pollution and negative ions equals nature. Bringing more negative ions into your home, intentionally, is called ozone therapy. This helps to combat all the positive ions already in your home such as electrical devices, pollen, and pet dander. There are many benefits to ozone therapy. Studies have been conducted over the last 100 years or so to help identify the benefits of negative ions. Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to, inhibiting viruses, bacteria, and mold species, reducing stress and improving your mood, regulates sleeping patterns, and increases immune function. Inhibiting Viruses, Bacteria, and Mold

Negative Ions attach themselves to the positive ions and make them heavy, too heavy to remain in the air. This helps to keep you from breathing it in. Negative ions also help to neutralize free radicals.

Reducing Stress, Improving Mood,

Ozone therapy can help to naturally speed up the production of serotonin in the bloodstream resulting in an improved mood.

Regulates Sleep Patterns

Negative Ions a.k.a. Ozone therapy helps to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Negative ions also improve circulation to the brain. This helps with insomnia.

Increase Immune Function

Negative ions can increase immune function by strengthening the immunity cells so they can destroy pathogens easier and speed up antibodies production through lymphocytes.
